Workshops

The SpaceOps Organization supports two workshops that provide the community the opportunity to focus and engage on challenges.

SpaceOps Workshop

The SpaceOps Workshop is organized by the SpaceOps Organization. This workshop is held in alternate years to the SpaceOps Conference.  It is a goal to have the location of the Workshop alternate between North America, Europe, and Asia. Attendance is by invitation only, workshop focuses on critical themes identified by SpaceOp Organization members.

Improving Space Operations Workshop

The Improving Space Operations Workshop is jointly sponsored by the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA), the AIAA Space Operations & Support Technical Committee (SOSTC), and the SpaceOps Organization. This workshop is held annually and has open attendance.

The objectives of the workshop are to:

  • Investigate the development, implementation, and operation of systems that support space-related activities.
  • Focus on operations technologies associated with space operations infrastructure, including the Internet and other commercial technologies.
  • Develop positions on operational issues needing AIAA input from a cross section of member expertise.
  • Identify approaches and standards for making operations more affordable, more flexible, more productive, and safer.
