Seongsan Ilchulbong Peak, which is 180m above sea level, erupted underwater in the ocean about 5,000 years ago. This makes it a very rare case among the many craters in Jeju Island. It was designated a Natural Monument on July 19, 2000, and subsequently recognized for its outstanding geological value by UNESCO on July 2, 2007, when it was added to the World Natural Heritage List. The peak was also named a Global Geopark Network site in October 2010.
Our association has been focusing on not simply selling but also promoting high quality products by expanding our distribution outlets. As part of that effort, we have held the Korean Premium Goods Show every year since 2006 and have been attending the Korea Leading Market Expo regularly in order to introduce Jeju Island’s local specialties in Seoul, Busan, Gwangju, Daejeon, and other regions.
Cheonjeyeon Waterfall has three sections. The first runs from the floor of the mountain on the upper part of Jungmun-dong, which falls 22 meters. The water there falls again two more times to form the second and third sections, which then tributes to the sea. The first segment is usually a pond but falls when it rains. The forest in which the fall is located is in a warm temperature zone so you can feel rejuvenated while watching the fall and feel refreshed while breathing in the cool air.
The Jeju Olle walking trail system first opened in 2007 and has now expanded to 26 routes that circle Jeju Province and cover many of its outlying islands, like Udo, Gapado, and Chujado Island. It passes through 135 villages and over 130 famous tourist destinations.
Visitors from mainland Korea and overseas are encouraged to embrace a slow, healing, eco-friendly journey. The foundation manages various campaigns to keep its trails and the local environment clean and healthy.
